A wide, short tank is the natural partner for a gutter. The lid stays low enough to sit beside a house or barn wall without towering over it, the 24 inch manway takes a basket filter or a first flush line easily, and the green wall keeps light off stored rainwater so algae has less to work with. Openings and what to check before you buy

1. Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene stainless steel bolted fitting. It sits low on the wall for a pump suction or a gravity line. Tell us what you are connecting and we will confirm the thread or adapter that goes with it.
2. Inlet. A 1-1/2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting for the downspout run or a fill pipe.
3. Manway. A 24 inch threaded vented manway on top: room for a filter basket, a float switch and a person's shoulders when the tank needs cleaning.
4. Overflow. A rain tank fills itself, so plan where the overflow goes before the first storm. Carry it well clear of the pad edge.

Taller tanks near this size

If the site is short on width, a taller tank holds about the same water on a smaller footprint: the 5000 gallon green water tank (SII-32370), the 5000 gallon black tank (SII-32368) and the 5000 gallon black tank (SII-32382).
