5,000 gallons at 116 inches, in green, with NSF 61 listed resin
The Snyder 32370 holds 5,000 gallons on a 119 inch floor at 116 inches tall, in green high density linear polyethylene, 805 pounds empty. It is the middle of Snyder's three 5,000 gallon shapes, the one that fits under a 10 foot eave without needing a 142 inch pad, and its resin is FDA approved and ANSI/NSF 61 listed for drinking water. A 26 inch threaded vented manway on top, a 1-1/2 inch polypropylene inlet and a 2 inch polypropylene outlet. Rated for a specific gravity of 1.0.

Built and listed for drinking water
Green is the conventional color for potable water in view, and here the color is backed by the listing: the resin carries FDA approval and the ANSI/NSF 61 listing that a water system inspector asks for. That is the reason to choose this tank over the black 32368 from the same mold when the water is for people rather than stock or fire. Both block the light that grows algae.
Three ways to hold 5,000 gallons
| Part | Gallons | Diameter x height | Empty weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| 32327 | 4,100 | 102 x 130 in | 714 lb |
| 32368, black | 5,000 | 119 x 116 in | 805 lb |
| 32370 (this tank) | 5,000 | 119 x 116 in | 805 lb |
| 32382 | 5,000 | 102 x 159 in | 876 lb |
| 32392 | 5,000 | 142 x 93 in | 876 lb |
| 32384 | 5,100 | 102 x 159 in | 876 lb |
The 102 inch tank stands 43 inches taller than this one; the 142 inch tank is 23 inches shorter but needs two more feet of pad. This middle shape is the one most sites can actually place. It also carries the lightest wall of the three at 805 pounds, which is fine for water and is the reason it costs less to ship.

Forty-one thousand pounds
Full, the tank weighs 41,700 pounds on a 119 inch circle. A reinforced, level slab in full contact with the whole floor is the requirement, sized by the ACI 360R-10 method in the concrete pad sizing guide. The manway is a ladder job at 116 inches, so run the fill to the top inlet, keep the manway closed for inspection, and keep its vent clear for the air 5,000 gallons displaces.
Ports
- Inlet: 1-1/2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting on top.
- Outlet: 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting at the base; full-port valve, union, pump.
- Access: 26 inch threaded, vented manway, large enough to climb in for a cleanout.
A sight tube on the outlet is the simplest gauge; the level gauge selection guide compares sensors that read through a green poly wall.
In service
Community or ranch drinking water, a private fire reserve that satisfies most rural plans outright, sized in the fire-water reservoir design guide, and the raw water block of a reuse train in the industrial water reuse topology guide. Confirm the capacity against your draw with the tank sizing calculator and the tank sizing guide.
Freight and the first fill
At 119 inches across the tank is oversize freight, quoted by lane through the freight cost estimator; the listed price is before freight. Plan the lift for 805 pounds and a 119 inch swing. Fill in stages the first time, watching the slab and the outlet fitting as the head comes on, per the hydrostatic test methodology guide.
