The Norwesco 6600 Gallon Plastic Water Storage Tank (SKU N-44119) is a large vertical poly tank: 12 ft (144 in) in diameter, standing 101 inches tall, molded from green polyethylene rated to 1.1 specific gravity. If you are sizing bulk water storage for an agricultural site, a rural fire reserve, or a water reuse train, this is the kind of single-vessel capacity that consolidates what would otherwise be a row of smaller tanks.

Will it work for your site

This is a vertical water storage tank measuring 12 ft (144 in) in diameter and 101 in tall, with a 144.0 x 144.0 inch footprint. The green polyethylene wall and 1.1 specific gravity rating are built for water and water-equivalent contents up to that density. Two numbers drive every decision here: at full water the tank carries 55,044 pounds of contents, and its maximum rated contents weight is 60,548 pounds. That weight is exactly why the foundation matters more than the tank itself on a vessel this size. Before you order, confirm your pad can carry a fully loaded tank across that 12-foot circle, and walk through the math in our Tank Sizing Guide and Tank Sizing Calculator so the capacity you buy matches the draw and refill cycle you actually run. For above-ground concrete work, the concrete pad sizing guide (ACI 360R-10 framework) walks the engineering boundary in plain terms.

Foundation, fill, and first-fill discipline

A 6600-gallon vertical tank is unforgiving of a poor pad. The footprint is 144.0 x 144.0 inches and the loaded mass concentrates straight down, so a level, full-bearing pad is non-negotiable. After install, fill the tank with water on a controlled first fill rather than slamming it full from a hydrant, and monitor for pad settlement and fitting weep as the load comes on. Our hydrostatic test methodology for new-install acceptance lays out the water-fill discipline, settlement monitoring, and hold-time math for exactly this acceptance step. For dimensions, port locations, and fitting layout, see the technical drawing on this page.

The mistake to avoid

The most common error on a tank this large is treating the 1.1 specific gravity rating as a green light for anything liquid. It is not. This is a water storage tank: the 1.1 SG rating covers water and water-equivalent fluids, and going denser or chemically aggressive than that is a different tank and a different resin conversation. If your application is fire reserve or reuse rather than straight water storage, plan the system around it — the fire-water reservoir design guide (NFPA 22 sizing) and the industrial water reuse tank topology guide map the system around the vessel.

This tank ships LTL freight from Norwesco's plant in Hanford, CA, with the rate quoted live to your ZIP — get a number in seconds with our Freight Cost Estimator, or call 866-418-1777 and we will quote it with you. On a vertical storage tank this size the freight leg is a real line item, so pull your ZIP quote before you finalize, and confirm site access for delivery of a 12-foot-diameter tank.
