Where a heavy duty 10500 fits

Buy the heavy duty tank when the liquid is heavier than water by a wide margin: concentrated fertilizers, brines, many treatment chemicals and process liquids that land between 1.5 and 1.9 specific gravity. For plain water, rainwater or fire reserve the standard 1.5 tank in the same footprint does the job and costs less; the links below take you to it. The tank is 130 inches across and 202 inches tall, so it needs clear height above 202 inches to set upright and a 130 inch circle of level, continuous concrete under it. What goes in it

Polyethylene handles water, most liquid fertilizers and many common chemicals, and the 1.9 rating means weight is rarely the limit. Temperature can be: the tank is rated to 120 F, so a hot process stream or a dark tank in full sun with a warm liquid needs a check against that number. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed low in the sidewall, shipped with a 2 inch reducer in place. Run 3 inch pipe and leave the reducer out, or keep it and run 2 inch; decide before the valve order. Support the valve and the first length of pipe on their own so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
2. Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top, for filling, a level sensor and inspection. It is the vent, so never plug it or pipe a fill line into it without a separate vent.
3. Extra fittings. Nothing else is installed. If you need a second outlet, a fill connection or a sight gauge, tell us where, and we quote it with the tank.

This is an oversize load, 202 by 130 by 130 inches and 2357 lb, and it travels on a flatbed from Norwesco's Albertville, Alabama plant, the only plant that builds this part number. An oversize haul is priced on miles and permits rather than weight. A tank this size comes off the truck with a crane or a large telehandler, never by dragging. At the tailgate, check 47640 against the bill of lading, walk round the tank for transit damage, and fill it with water the first time, in stages, watching the pad and the outlet.
