A 12000 gallon black vertical tank for bulk water and liquid storage
The Norwesco 12000 gallon vertical liquid storage tank in black, part number 43939, is a polyethylene tank 141 inches in diameter and 193 inches tall, weighing 2513 lb empty. It is a bulk storage tank for a pad: water for a farm, a ranch or a fire reserve, liquid fertilizer at a dealer, or process water at a plant. It comes with a 3 inch stainless steel bolted outlet fitting, a 3 inch reducer and a 3 inch by 5-1/2 inch siphon tube, plus a 22 inch manway on top. The tank is rated for liquids up to 1.5 specific gravity, which covers water, most liquid fertilizers and many common chemicals, with a service limit of 120 F. Where it goes
At 141 inches across and 193 inches tall, this tank needs a pad and a clear overhead; it is not a tank for a shed. The usual homes are a fertilizer plant or ag retailer, a ranch water system, a rural fire reserve and an industrial site that buffers water or a compatible liquid. Openings and fittings
- Outlet. A 3 inch stainless steel bolted fitting low in the sidewall, with a 3 inch reducer and a 3 inch by 5-1/2 inch siphon tube. The siphon tube lets the tank draw down below the fitting height, so less liquid is stranded in the bottom. Your valve goes on the outlet before the first fill; support the valve and the first length of pipe on their own so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
- Manway. A 22 inch manway on top for filling, a level sensor and access for cleaning. At 193 inches up, plan a fixed ladder or a platform if anyone will open it regularly.

Liquids heavier than 1.5 times water need Norwesco's heavy duty version of this size, not this tank. Check anything other than water against the maker's chemical guidance before it goes in, and ask us if you are not sure.
The pad and the first fill
A tank this size wants a level, continuous concrete pad larger than its 141 inch footprint, with no edge, drain or joint under the tank wall. Anchoring and wind load are site decisions the tank does not make for you. Fill with water the first time, slowly, and walk the fittings for weeps before anything else goes in.
