The Norwesco 1335 gallon black elliptical leg tank, part number 42927B, is a low profile polyethylene transport tank 126 inches long, 66 inches wide and 55 inches tall, weighing 364 lb empty. The elliptical cross section keeps the load low and wide, so it rides a gooseneck or a tandem axle trailer with less sway than a round tank of the same volume. On a trailer or a nurse rig
At 126 inches long and 66 inches wide the tank runs along a trailer deck with room beside it for a pump and a hose reel, and at 55 inches tall it stays below the line of sight from most cabs. Full of water it weighs over 11100 lb and more with fertilizer, so the trailer's axle and hitch ratings, not the tank, set the limit. What goes in it
Water, liquid fertilizer and the common farm and treatment chemicals that polyethylene handles are the normal loads. Openings and fittings
- Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed low in the end wall. A 2 inch ball valve and camlock thread straight in. Support the valve and the first length of hose so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
- Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top, reachable from the trailer deck: wide enough to fill from a hose or a pump, drop a float in, and clean through. Keep the vent clear so the tank breathes as the load sloshes.
