Norwesco does not publish a resin designation we can confirm for this exact mold, so before any chemical service confirm whether your tank is HDLPE or XLPE - that distinction changes what you can store. At the 1.5 SG rating, this tank handles Acetic Acid (60%), Aluminum Sulfate (50%), Calcium Chloride (40%), DEF (32.5%), Ferrous Sulfate (20%), Magnesium Chloride (30%), Sodium Carbonate (30%), Urea Solution (50%), and Ozonated Water (up to 10 PPM). For most of these the supporting fittings should be PVC with EPDM gaskets; DEF calls for 316 stainless fittings with EPDM, and Acetic Acid and Urea Solution accept PP or PVC with EPDM. Several common ag and water-treatment chemicals are too dense for a 1.5 SG tank and require a 1.9 specific gravity rated tank instead. If your product is Ethylene Glycol, Ferric Chloride, Ferric Sulfate, Hydrochloric Acid, Hydrofluoric Acid, Hydrofluosilicic Acid, Hydrogen Peroxide, Peracetic Acid, Phosphoric Acid, Polyaluminum Chloride, Potassium Carbonate, Potassium Hydroxide, Propylene Glycol, Sodium Bisulfate, Sodium Bisulfite, Sodium Hypochlorite, Sodium Thiosulfate, Sulfuric Acid, or Zinc Orthophosphate, this 1.5 SG tank is not the right one - step up to the 1.9 rating. Fitting and gasket needs also tighten for several of these: Sulfuric Acid wants CPVC with Viton; Peracetic Acid needs 316 stainless with Aflas; Propylene Glycol and Zinc Orthophosphate call for PP or 316 stainless; Hydrofluoric and Hydrofluosilicic Acid take PP/PVC with Viton; and Hydrochloric Acid, Hydrogen Peroxide, Phosphoric Acid, and Sodium Hypochlorite need Viton gaskets rather than EPDM. The biggest mistake on a leg tank like this is matching gallons instead of weight and skipping the SG check - that is how an overloaded, wrong-resin tank ends up cracked on the road.
