The Norwesco 1035 gallon elliptical leg tank, part number 40191, is a white polyethylene transport tank with an oval cross section: 89 inches long, 79 inches wide and 54 inches tall, weighing 270 lb empty. On a trailer or a truck
At 89 by 79 inches this tank is nearly square in plan, so it suits a flatbed, a gooseneck or a nurse trailer where a long narrow leg tank would waste the width. At 54 inches tall it keeps the load low, which matters most on the road and in a field with side slopes. Full of water it is close to 8630 lb and more with fertilizer, so the trailer's axle and tongue ratings, not the tank, are usually the limit. Strap it through the moulded leg recesses, never over the manway, and use the bands Norwesco makes for elliptical tanks where it rides on a vehicle; tell us the trailer and we will confirm the band kit with the order. What goes in it
Water and liquid fertilizer are the normal loads, with the farm and treatment chemicals that polyethylene handles. Openings and fittings
- Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed. Your valve, camlock or hose adapter threads straight into it. Support the valve and the first length of hose so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
- Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top, wide enough to fill from a hose or a pump and to get a hand and a brush inside to clean.
