The Norwesco 1500 gallon preplumbed one compartment septic tank, part number 43498, is a green polyethylene tank 157 inches long, 69 inches wide and 51 inches tall, weighing 549 lb empty. Preplumbed means the 4 inch inlet and the 4 inch outlet arrive with their adapters and PVC tee assemblies already fitted, so the crew sets the tank, connects the pipe and backfills without assembling anything in the hole. Access is a 20 inch gasketed manway. Norwesco lists the tank as IAPMO approved, rates it to 130 F, and backs it with a 5 year warranty. The low profile shape keeps the top of the tank shallow, which is what you want on a lot with rock, a high water table or a drain field that cannot run deep. Full of water the tank holds 12510 lb.

Who buys the preplumbed version
The installer who wants the fewest things to go wrong on the day. The tees are the part of a septic install that gets set at the wrong height or left out of a box when it rains, and factory fitting removes that. A one compartment tank is the simpler system and is accepted where the code allows it, often with an effluent filter at the outlet; many jurisdictions now ask for two compartments on new residential systems, and that version is linked below. Openings, plumbing and what to check before you buy
- Inlet and outlet. 4 inch each, adapter with PVC tee assembly, fitted at the factory. Your 4 inch building sewer and outlet line connect straight to them. Confirm the invert heights on the drawing against your pipe grades before the hole is dug.
- The manway. One 20 inch gasketed manway. Bring it to grade with a riser so the tank can be pumped without excavation.
- Depth of bury. The tank is 51 inches tall. Riser height plus the cover your code requires sets the depth of the inlet; the inlet, outlet, vent and drain tie-in walkthrough covers the layout.
- Temperature. Norwesco rates the tank to 130 F. Household waste is far below that.

The listed price is before freight; the freight cost estimator gives the lane cost to your ZIP. Have the hole open and the bedding ready for the delivery window so the 549 lb tank is lifted once, from the truck into the hole. At the tailgate, check the part number against 43498, look at both tee assemblies for cracks and loose joints, and walk the shell before you sign. Set it on a level bed of compacted sand or pea gravel and follow Norwesco's instructions for filling with water as you backfill, so the pressure inside keeps pace with the soil outside.
