The Norwesco 200 gallon vertical water storage tank in black, part number 44107, is a polyethylene tank 30 inches in diameter and 72 inches tall, weighing 49 lb empty. The shape is the point: 30 inches across fits a tank down the side of a house, against a barn wall, under a downspout or in the corner of a greenhouse where a wider tank will not go, and the height carries the volume. What goes in it
Water. The 1.1 rating is a weight limit of 9.18 lb per gallon, which rules out fertilizer, brine and most chemical solutions; those belong in a 1.5 or 1.9 tank. Keep the contents under 120 F. If you plan to store anything other than water in it, check the liquid against our chemical compatibility guide and call us first. Where the water is for drinking, your local code decides what it requires of the tank; Norwesco states the resin is FDA compliant, and we will send Norwesco's documents for this part number on request.
Openings and fittings
- Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed low in the side wall. A ball valve and a hose adapter or a pump suction thread straight into it; for a garden hose, a 2 inch to hose thread adapter does it. Support the valve on its own so the fitting carries water, not hardware.
- Fill lid. An 8 inch threaded vented lid on top. The vent lets air in as water goes out; for rainwater, a downspout diverter or a screened inlet through the lid keeps leaves and mosquitoes out.
