Where it goes

Water to a job site or a remote pasture, spray mix for a small sprayer, a wash water tank on a service truck, a reserve tank on a utility trailer, and a fixed holding tank in a shop or a greenhouse. The flat bottom and the square footprint make it the easiest tank to secure in a bed: it sits flat, it does not roll, and two straps over the body hold it. At 36 inches tall it clears a tonneau only with the cover off, so measure the bed. What to check before you buy

1. The surface under it. A flat, continuous surface under the whole 48 by 36 inch base. A bed liner is fine; a ribbed bed with nothing between the ribs and the tank is not, because the tank wears on the ribs.
2. The lid. One 8 inch lid on top for filling and venting. It is not a manway; clean the tank through the lid with a wand.
3. The outlet. No outlet fitting is listed on this tank. Tell us where you want the drain and what size, and we confirm what ships on the tank and what to add before it leaves the plant.
4. The liquid. Polyethylene handles water, most fertilizers and many common chemicals. Heavier than 1.5 times water, or hotter than 120 F, needs a different tank.
5. Tie-down. Two straps over the body, pulling down to the bed anchors, with the lid clear. A half full tank sloshes hardest; check the straps after the first mile.
