The Norwesco 2500 Gallon Dark Green Vertical Water Storage Tank is a polyethylene vertical water tank built for bulk above-ground storage on farms, ranches, rural homesteads, and remote sites that need real volume in a single footprint. It holds 2,500 gallons, stands 91 inches tall, and sits on a 95 x 95 inch base. The dark green color cuts UV-driven algae growth in outdoor service and blends into a landscape better than a white or black tank. If you are sizing a fresh-water tank for household supply, livestock, irrigation buffering, or a fire-water reserve, this is one of the standard Norwesco vertical storage tank sizes, and it ships from the nearest of eight Norwesco plants to keep LTL distance down on a heavy load.

Will it work for your site?

The tank is rated to a 1.0 specific gravity, which means it is engineered for water and water-density liquids. Filled to capacity, the contents weigh 20,850 pounds, and the maximum rated contents weight is the same 20,850 pounds, so a full tank of water sits exactly at its design load. That number drives everything underneath it. Over the 95 x 95 inch footprint (about 62.7 square feet), a full tank puts roughly 330 pounds per square foot of distributed bearing load on the pad, dead level and fully supported. At 91 inches tall, plan on about eight feet of working clearance overhead for top-fill access and overflow or vent plumbing. Use the technical drawing on this page for the dimensioned layout, and run the numbers through our Tank Sizing Calculator and Tank Sizing Guide to confirm the 2,500-gallon size matches your daily draw and refill cycle before you commit.

Set it up so it lasts

The single most common mistake with a tank this size is the foundation. A vertical polyethylene water tank wants a continuous, flat, fully supporting base under the entire bottom, not piers or a partial pad. Concentrating 20,850 pounds on an uneven or undersized slab is how sidewalls crack and bottoms fatigue. Our guide on concrete pad sizing for above-ground polyethylene tanks walks through the ACI 360R-10 framework for getting that right, including the roughly 330 pounds per square foot this tank will impose. Before you put it into service, fill it with water and check it per our hydrostatic test methodology for new-install tank acceptance so you catch pad settlement and any fitting leaks while the tank is still easy to drain.

Where it fits in a water system

At 2,500 gallons this tank is a workhorse for stored water systems that need genuine buffer capacity. It is a strong fit for a rural fire-water reserve; our fire-water reservoir tank design guide covers NFPA 22 sizing and freeze protection for cold-climate sites. It also works as an aggregation vessel in a reuse setup, where rainwater, grey water, and HVAC condensate get banded by quality before treatment, as detailed in our industrial water reuse tank topology guide.

This tank ships LTL freight from the nearest Norwesco plant to your ZIP, with stocking points in Fairfield, TX; Griffin, GA; Hanford, CA; Lancaster, OH; Owego, NY; Shawnee, OK; Tooele, UT; and Washougal, WA. Because it ships from the closest plant, freight is quoted live to your delivery ZIP rather than baked into the list price. Get a real number with our Freight Cost Estimator, or call us at 866-418-1777 and we will help you size the tank, confirm freight, and get it on a truck.
