The manway is reached from the ground by most people, the tank hides behind a six foot fence, and it goes under a lean-to or an eave the taller shells will not. Full, the tank stands 20,850 lb of water on a 102 inch circle. The base has to be flat, level and continuous under the whole floor, built past the rim rather than to it, and drained so overflow cannot undercut an edge. Openings and fittings
- Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed low in the wall. Thread your valve into it and support the valve and the first length of pipe separately so the fitting carries water, not hardware.
- Inlet. A 1-1/2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting for the fill line.
- Manway. A 22 inch threaded vented manway on top, large enough for cleaning and for fitting a float or level sensor. The vent lets the tank breathe as the level moves; never seal it.
