Where it goes

These go where a few gallons have to drain completely every time: a clean water rinse tank on a sprayer or a spray rig, a small batch tank for mixing a concentrate before it goes into a bigger tank, a sample or settling tank in a plant or a lab, or a feed tank over a small pump. At 11 inches across it fits on a shelf, a bench or a bracket on a frame. Because it has no flat base, plan how it will be held before it arrives: a cutout in a bench, a small ring stand or a bracket that takes the shell above the cone. No stand comes with the tank. What goes in it

Rinse water, pesticide and herbicide mixes, fertilizer concentrates and the common chemicals polyethylene handles. Before anything but water goes in, check it in our chemical compatibility guide; the entries for sodium hypochlorite, hydrogen peroxide, acetic acid, phosphoric acid and urea solution are the ones small tank buyers ask about most. Liquids heavier than 1.5 times water are outside the rating. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. 1.25 inch at the bottom of the cone. Match your valve or hose barb to it. Fit a valve directly to the outlet so the tank can be shut while a hose is changed.
2. Lid. An 8 inch lid on top. Wide enough to pour from a jug, fill from a hose and get a hand in to wipe the cone.
