The Norwesco 5025 gallon black heavy duty horizontal leg tank, part number 42602, is a polyethylene transport and storage tank 190 inches long, 92 inches wide and 96 inches tall, weighing 1709 lb empty. The heavy duty shell is rated for liquids up to 1.9 specific gravity, which is the difference between this tank and the standard 5025: it carries the dense fertilizers and chemicals a 1.5 tank cannot. Who needs 5025 gallons lying down
This is a bulk nurse tank or a stationary yard tank for a fertilizer dealer, a custom applicator, a large farm or a water hauler who needs the volume of a vertical tank but has to stay under a roof, a door or a bridge. At 190 inches it needs a deck close to sixteen feet, and at 96 inches tall it stands eight feet before the trailer height is added, so it is a dedicated trailer or a fixed pad, not a flatbed that does other work. Full of water it is nearly twenty-one tons, and with a 1.9 liquid nearly forty; buy the 1.9 rating only if you need it, because the standard shell is lighter if water and light fertilizer are all it will see. Strap through the leg recesses with the bands Norwesco makes for this tank, never over the manway. On the ground it needs a flat, continuous pad under all the legs, engineered for the full load. Openings and fittings
- Outlet. A 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed low in the end wall, with a 2 inch reducer in it. Run 3 inch for fast transfer with a big pump, or leave the reducer in for 2 inch valves and camlocks. Support the valve and the first length of pipe so the fitting carries liquid, not a manifold.
- Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top: wide enough to fill from a pump, to drop a float in, and to get a hand and a brush inside. At eight feet up you will want a ladder or a platform at the manway.
