Norwesco 4035 Gallon HDPE Horizontal Elliptical Leg Tank in Black

Sixteen feet of tank, 75 inches tall

The elliptical body is the lowest way to carry 4035 gallons on legs. At 75 inches tall it goes under a roll-up door, a barn header or a low shed roof that a round leg tank of the same volume would not, and the low, wide section keeps the centre of gravity down on a flat trailer or a skid. The price of that is length: 192 inches of tank needs a flat, continuous surface under every leg along the whole run, not just at the two ends, because a dip in the middle moves the load onto the legs you did not mean to load. Check the pad with a straightedge or a string line, not by eye. Buy the heavy duty version when the liquid is heavier than water; if it is water or close to it, the standard rated 4035 gallon black leg tank is the same body for less. What goes in it

Dense liquid fertilizer is the usual load, then water and the treatment chemicals that polyethylene handles. Check the liquid in our chemical compatibility guide before the first fill; the entries for urea solution, DEF, calcium chloride, sodium hypochlorite and sulfuric acid are the ones leg tank buyers ask about most. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed low in the end wall, with a 2 inch reducer so you can run a 3 inch or a 2 inch valve from day one. Support the valve and the first length of hose so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
2. Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top: wide enough to fill from a hose or a pump, drop a float in, and get a brush inside. On a tank this long, plan a walkway or a platform to reach it.

The listed price is before freight; the freight cost estimator gives the lane cost to your ZIP. Have a forklift or a loader on site to unload it, and walk the route from the truck to the pad with a tape first: 92 inches wide and 75 inches tall, upright. At the tailgate, check the part number against 42011 on the bill of lading, look along all the legs for transit damage, and fill it with water the first time before it carries anything else.
