Ninety six inches tall on legs: the surface and the headroom

This is the tallest leg tank in the group and the height is what people underestimate. Ninety six inches is eight feet at the top of the shell, before anything is added above it and before the machine that carries it lifts it clear of the deck, so the doorway, the canopy and the lowest overhead service all get measured against that figure and not against the 92 inch width. Indoors, eight feet of tank means the 16 inch manway is above head height and access to it is a designed thing.

Underneath, the demand is straightforward and unforgiving: a flat, continuous, fully supported surface under the whole 190 inch length. The legs the name gives share the load along that span, and a surface that is true at the ends and low in the middle changes how they share it as soon as the tank fills with 41908 lb of water. The 3725 gallon row is 145 inches long on the same 92 inch width and is actually an inch taller at 97 inches, so stepping down in volume buys you forty five inches of length and nothing else: it is the row for a site that is short rather than a site that is tight. The 6025 gallon row grows in all three directions, to 193 by 99 by 106 inches, so it needs a wider bay and another ten inches of headroom as well as the extra length. And then there is 42602, which is the same 190 by 92 by 96 inch body at 1709 lb against this record's 1710 lb. Size the whole run on the 2 inch section rather than on the 3 inch bulkhead, because the reducer is where the flow is decided, and let the reducer be the only place in the line where the section steps down. The install specific for a body this long: put a union within arm's reach of the bulkhead so the fitting can be pulled without cutting pipe.
