Norwesco 5025 Gallon Horizontal Leg Tank in White

Where this tank goes

This is the standard rated version of the 5025 gallon leg body. Buy it when you need one large volume of water or a liquid near the weight of water: a water tank at a yard or a pump station, a nurse tank at a blend site, a fixed fertilizer tank on a skid. Liquids heavier than 1.5 times water need the heavy duty version of this body, which carries a 1.9 rating. Sixteen feet of round body on moulded legs needs a flat, continuous surface under every leg along the whole length, not just the ends; check the pad with a straightedge or a string line. Where the tank rides on a skid or a deck, strap it with the 5 bands Norwesco specifies, band part 63284, over the moulded recesses and never over the manway; we put the bands on the same order. What goes in it

Water, liquid fertilizer and the farm and treatment chemicals that polyethylene handles. Check anything other than water in our chemical compatibility guide before the first fill; on a 1.5 rated tank the weight of the liquid matters as much as its chemistry. Keep the contents under 120 F. White stored water in full sun grows algae sooner than water in a black tank; for a tank that sits outdoors full of water for months, ask us about the black version. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 3 inch outlet fitting low in the end wall with a 2 inch reducer, so you can run a 3 inch or a 2 inch valve from day one, and a 3 inch siphon tube that draws from the low point of the tank. Support the valve and the first length of hose so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware. Tell us the valve you plan to use and we will confirm the thread before the order ships.
2. Manway. A 16 inch manway on top: wide enough to fill from a hose or a pump, drop a float in, and get a brush inside. At 96 inches up, plan a platform or a ladder spot.
3. Bands. 5 bands, Norwesco part 63284, when the tank is strapped to a deck or a skid. Order them with the tank.

Shipping and receiving

The tank ships as oversize freight, Norwesco's OVS class, 190 by 92 by 96 inches and 1510 lb, from the nearer of Norwesco's plants in Lancaster, Ohio and St. Bonifacius, Minnesota. The listed price is before freight; the freight cost estimator gives the lane cost to your ZIP. Have a forklift or a loader rated for the weight on site, and walk the route from the truck to the pad with a tape first. Bands ordered with the tank travel with it. At the tailgate, check the part number against 41879 on the bill of lading, look along all the legs for transit damage, and fill it with water the first time before it carries anything else.
