Where a 600 gallon tank goes

This is the size that fits where a bigger tank is a project: at 50 inches tall and 64 inches across it goes through a double gate, under a carport, beside a well house or onto a flatbed trailer, and two people can move it empty. For a household it is a day or two of reserve and a buffer that lets a slow well keep up. In a garden it stores a wet week off a shed or house roof. On a trailer it is water for a remote crew or for stock. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting low in the wall. A 2 inch ball valve threads straight in; a union or camlock after it lets the tank come off the line without draining.
2. Inlet. A 1-1/2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting for the fill line from a pump, a float valve or a downspout filter.
3. Lid. An 8 inch threaded vented lid on top. This is a lid, not a manway: it takes a hose, a float switch cable and a look inside, but not an arm and a brush. If you need to get inside the tank to clean it, tell us and we will point you at a tank with a full manway.
4. Rating. 1.1 specific gravity, a maximum of 9.18 lb per gallon. Water and rainwater; liquid fertilizers are heavier and need a tank rated 1.5 or higher. Keep contents under 120 F.

At the tailgate, check the part number against 43800 on the bill of lading, look the shell over for transit damage, and run the water fill acceptance test on the base before it carries anything else.
