The Norwesco 725 gallon black horizontal leg tank, part number 40745, is a polyethylene transport and storage tank 101 inches long, 49 inches wide and 54 inches tall, weighing 199 lb empty. The moulded legs let it sit flat on a flatbed, a trailer deck or a skid without a cradle. It comes with a 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting as the outlet and a 16 inch threaded vented manway on top. What a 725 gallon leg tank is bought to do
At 101 inches it fills the bed of a long flatbed or sits along a tandem axle trailer, and at 49 inches wide it leaves room beside it for a pump and a reel. Full, it is three tons of water, so this is a trailer and flatbed tank, not a pickup tank; the vehicle's rating, the tie-downs and the support bands decide the job. It is the common size for a nurse tank feeding a sprayer in the field, a water tank for dust control or a construction site, a mobile supply for a pressure washer crew, or a yard tank on a skid where a vertical tank would be too tall for the door. What goes in it
Water, liquid fertilizer and the farm and treatment chemicals polyethylene handles, up to 1.5 times the weight of water and 120 F. Openings and fittings
- Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed low in the end wall. Your valve, camlock or hose adapter threads straight in. Support the valve and the first length of hose so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
- Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top: wide enough to fill from a hose or a pump, to drop a float in, and to get a hand and a brush inside to clean.
