A 725 gallon white leg tank rated for heavy liquids, with a 5 year warranty
The Norwesco 725 gallon horizontal leg tank, part number 40194, is the heavy duty white 725: high density linear polyethylene, rated for liquids up to 1.9 specific gravity, with a 5 year warranty from Norwesco. The tank is 49 inches in diameter, 101 inches long and 54 inches tall on its moulded legs, and weighs 230 lb empty. It comes with a 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting as the outlet and a 16 inch threaded vented manway on top. The 1.9 rating means liquids up to 1.9 times the weight of water, a maximum of 15.87 lb per gallon; 725 gallons of water weighs about 6050 lb, and a full load at the rating limit is about 11490 lb. The resin is FDA compliant per Norwesco and the service limit is 120 F (48 C). Three bands are required for this tank, band part N-60057.

Why the heavy duty version
At 725 gallons a leg tank is a trailer tank or a yard tank, not a pickup tank, and the liquid is usually fertilizer or a treatment chemical rather than water. Concentrated liquid fertilizers and brines run well above 1.5 specific gravity, which is where the standard tank stops and this one continues to 1.9. What goes in it
Liquid fertilizer, water and the farm and treatment chemicals that polyethylene handles. Check the liquid in our chemical compatibility guide before the first fill; the entries for urea solution, calcium chloride, phosphoric acid, potassium hydroxide and sulfuric acid are the ones buyers of a 1.9 rated tank ask about. Openings, fittings and bands
- Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed. Your valve, camlock or hose adapter threads straight in. Support the valve and the first length of hose so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
- Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top, wide enough to fill from a hose or a pump, drop a float in and get a brush inside.
- Bands. Three bands are required, band part N-60057. A 101 inch tank full of fertilizer moves on a trailer; the bands hold it and the straps go through the leg recesses, never over the manway. Order the bands with the tank.
