Snyder Industries 1100 Gallon ASTM XLPE Black Heavy Duty Vertical Storage Tank

Between the flat 1,100 and the tall 1,200

This shell is the middle shape in Snyder's 1,100 gallon range. The low, wide 1,100 gallon tanks need a much bigger circle of floor; the tall 1,200 gallon shell needs more ceiling. At 64 inches across and 90 inches tall this one fits a room with a little of each: a chemical feed room with a standard ceiling, a plating line where the aisle matters, a co-op pad where a dense fertilizer solution has to stay dark. The heavy duty wall carries liquids heavier than water, which is what brines, concentrated acids and caustics, coagulants and dense fertilizer solutions are.

Black passes no light to the liquid and takes the UV that ages a pale shell outdoors; it also hides the level, so plan a sender as part of the install. What to check before you buy

1. The pad. A rotomoulded tank bears on its whole floor, so 9,174 lb of water, or 17,431 lb at the rating, lands on a 64 inch circle. Engineer the slab with our concrete pad sizing guide, level and in full contact.
2. Restraint. An empty 300 lb shell 90 inches tall moves in wind. Band it to structure or slab anchors before the first fill, and re-check after the first storm and the first summer; a black wall in the sun grows a little every warm day.
3. The outlet. The 18 inch threaded vented manway is the only opening carried on this page. Tell us the liquid and the draw-off you want and we will confirm the bottom fitting, its size and material before anything is cut. Ask us for the drawing for this part number before you plan the plumbing.
4. Fill and vent. Fill through a dip tube to the floor so the stream does not free-fall and foam. Size the vent to the delivery pump and run it outdoors on anything that fumes.
5. Headspace. Leave freeboard for expansion at the 140 F limit and do not gauge by the manway rim.

Support the first valve on its own stand with a flexible connector to hard pipe. Keep the manway closed between deliveries and write the one liquid's name on the wall.

Shipping and receiving

The tank ships LTL at freight class 300 from the nearest of Snyder's Lincoln, NE, Marked Tree, AR and Philippi, WV plants, 64 by 64 by 90 inches at 300 lb. Price the lane to your ZIP with the freight cost estimator. Unload with a strap under the body, never through the manway, and stand it on the pad with the bands ready. Check the part number against 1830000N48 on the bill of lading, then fill with water to the manway, hold it, and walk the base before any chemical goes in.
