Two origins on one part number is worth more than it sounds. The three 1831000 tanks put the same volume on a 60 inch base and stand close to seven and a half feet, which is the buy when floor is scarce; each is rated as its own sheet says. This tank goes the other way, trading a wider circle for a shell that clears a low roof, and it is the one to pick when the building is the constraint and the slab is not. Molded ladder lugs to a manway at five feet nine inches

• The opening and the climb come first: an 18 inch threaded, vented manway at the top of a 69 inch shell, five feet nine inches up, and the sheet lists molded ladder lugs on this tank, which is what a ladder is anchored to. Five feet nine is a short climb rather than a tall one, and the lugs mean the ladder belongs to the tank instead of leaning on it; still put a proper platform and rail where anyone opens the cover regularly.
• Outlet: the sheet gives the outlet as "1 Manway / Lid" and no bottom fitting size appears anywhere on it. We print the field as it stands rather than invent a bulkhead diameter. The rating is the reason this shell exists, so respect what it implies. A dense liquid at the top of the allowance puts 15,846 pounds inside a tank that weighs 320 pounds empty, which means the pad, the bands and the base plumbing all see forces a water tank never shows them: the draw-off rides on its own support off the pad with a flexible connector to hard pipe, and nothing rigid is bolted to the shell. The cross-linked wall is the other half of the specification and it is a chemistry decision rather than a strength one. Because the wall is black, the level and the sediment are both invisible, so a sender and a local gauge are part of the install, and inspection is a light on the band above the liquid line every time the cover is off, with the thread and the gasket seat checked while the light is out and the date written down. Freeze protection goes on the base piping and the first valve, never on the body.

Warm chemistry on a low pad

A dense process liquid at a plant with a low chemical building, a plating or finishing line feed, a brine or concentrate at a food or municipal plant, a mixing and dosing skid that needs real volume under a roof, and any outdoor pad where the liquid has to stay dark through a full summer. The high allowance is what gets it specified for the heavy liquids; the low shell is what gets it into the building.
