The N42 is the cross-linked twin for hypochlorite and the other oxidizers. Openings, instruments, containment
- Access: 14 inch lid; the tank is filled by hose or tote pump, not poured, which is the right way to fill a chemical day tank anyway.
- Outlet: specify the bulkhead fitting for the chemical when ordering; a flexible transition to the pump suction and a valve supported off the floor.

Choose the level sender for the chemical with the level gauge selection guide; on a 51 inch white tank a float switch for low level and a sight line for the operator are often enough. Turnover and changeover
Size the refill schedule so the tank turns over before the chemical degrades; hypochlorite in particular is bought in small lots often, and a day tank that sits for a season wastes chlorine. A 34 inch tank is cleaned in minutes: drain through the outlet, rinse through the lid with a wand, drain again, and let it dry before the new fill, because residue from the last product is the usual cause of a cloudy first batch. Keep the lid closed against vapor loss and the tank out of direct sun where the chemical is light-sensitive.
Setting it up beside the pump
Put the tank on a spill pallet or a small basin at the pump, with the outlet facing the pump and the lid facing the operator. The dosing pump mounts below the outlet so it primes by gravity, with a union and a check valve in the suction line and a calibration column or a sight tube on it so the operator can check the feed rate without opening the tank. Bring the fill in through the lid by hose from the tote pump, and run the vent line to the outside or a scrubber; the off-gas from an open day tank is what corrodes the electrical gear beside it.
