The Snyder 1012700N42 is the cross-linked polyethylene version of Snyder's 30 inch by 41 inch, 100 gallon vertical chemical tank. It weighs 45 pounds, is rated for liquids up to 1.9 times the density of water, which means up to 1,585 pounds of contents in a tank that would hold 834 pounds of water. Linear or cross-linked?
High density linear polyethylene is a thermoplastic: heat it and it softens. Cross-linked polyethylene is molded with a catalyst that bonds the polymer chains into a single network, so it resists stress cracking, impact and temperature better and is the standard answer for strong oxidizers such as sodium hypochlorite and for sulfuric acid at higher concentrations. The trade is that XLPE cannot be plastic-welded for repair or field fittings. The N45 is the linear-resin twin: same 45 pounds, same footprint, and the one to buy when the chemical is mild and the price matters. The 90 and 110 gallon tanks widen the base by 3 to 4 inches and keep the 41 inch height, so a shelf or a containment basin sized for this tank takes them as well.

Day-to-day duty
Hypochlorite day tanks at small water systems, acid and caustic make-up tanks on skids, polymer batch tanks, and any 100 gallon vessel where the chemical would attack a linear-resin wall in a season. Two habits make an XLPE day tank last: keep the manway closed against vapor loss and sunlight, and bring the chemical in at or below the 120 F service limit, because a hot delivery from a summer tote softens any polyethylene and stresses the outlet fitting. Mount the dosing pump below the outlet so it primes by gravity, and give the vent a short piece of tubing routed away from the pump so any mist does not settle on it. Log each delivery with its date and strength, so turnover is a schedule and not a guess.
