The Snyder 32086 is a white high density linear polyethylene vertical liquid storage tank, 60 inches in diameter and 114 inches tall, holding 1,300 gallons at 224 pounds empty. Its wall is rated for a specific gravity of 1.5, or 16,263 pounds of contents against 10,842 for water, which covers brine, fertilizer solutions and dilute treatment chemicals as well as water. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead outlet and a 20 inch threaded, vented manway, on the narrowest base Snyder puts 1,300 gallons on.

Tall and narrow, by choice
A 60 inch base fits a chemical room corner, a spill pallet or a trailer bay where a six or seven foot circle will not, and 114 inches of height keeps a pump suction flooded with a tall column. The cost is reach, since the manway is nine and a half feet up, and wind, since a tall empty shell needs strapping. Full, it loads a 60 inch circle to 16,263 pounds at the rating: a slab or a compacted base in full contact, level. The 1830400 tanks put the same 1,300 gallons on a 72 inch base at 87 inches, 27 inches shorter and heavier-walled, with the N42 in cross-linked polyethylene for oxidizers. The 32064 lays 1,200 gallons down to 57 inches on an 86 inch base at the same 1.5 rating, and the 1770000C34 is the low 1,500. The 32086 is the one for the narrow site.

Nine and a half feet of head over a 2 inch outlet floods a pump suction or gravity-feeds a transfer line. A white tank shows its level in daylight; in a pump room plan a sight tube or a hydrostatic sender at the outlet. Strap the empty tank against wind with two bands over the top to anchors in the slab, fill through a dip tube so dense liquid does not splash the lid, and keep the vent clear so a fast draw cannot pull a vacuum on the wall. Where the tank feeds a dosing pump, mount the pump below the outlet so it primes by gravity and put a union and a check valve in the line; where it feeds a transfer pump, the 20 inch manway takes a sampling wand and a level sender at the same time. Inspect above the liquid line, in the vapor headspace, which is where a tall polyethylene wall fails first. In a freezing climate, a brine or fertilizer solution expands against a wall not designed for ice; house the tank or keep it above freezing.
