The Snyder Industries 1500 Gallon HDPE Vertical Liquid Storage Tank (SII-32108) is a 1,500-gallon white vertical molded in high-density linear polyethylene with a 1.9 specific gravity rating - the rating that lets one tank cover both water service and dense liquids without buying up to a heavier shell. At 65 inches in diameter and 114 inches tall, this vertical storage tank holds the full 1,500 gallons on a compact 65 x 65-inch footprint, useful when floor space is tight but you still need real volume on a single Snyder vertical tank.

Will it work for your application

Filled with water, this tank carries 12,510 pounds of contents. The 1.9 SG rating means the wall is built to hold up to 23,769 pounds at maximum rated contents weight - so if you may ever run fertilizer, brine, or other liquids up to 1.9 specific gravity, that rating future-proofs the tank against a cheaper water-only vertical rated near 1.0 to 1.35 SG. Size your pad, ring wall, or slab around that full contents weight, not the empty shell. Out of the box this HDPE storage tank is fitted for real plumbing: an 8" x 8" flat pad and an 8" x 7.5" flat pad - blank flat areas for field-installed flanged fittings, not pre-cut ports - plus a 2-inch polypropylene bulkhead fitting with an EPDM gasket and a 20-inch vented manway up top for access and atmospheric venting. Note the EPDM gasket spec: match EPDM on any field-added fittings to keep your gasket compatibility consistent. See the technical drawing on this page for exact fitting locations and elevations before you set your inlet and outlet plumbing.

Sizing and venting the right way

If you are still settling on capacity for a fire reserve, irrigation buffer, or bulk water supply, the Tank Sizing Calculator and Tank Sizing Guide walk you through volume and footprint trade-offs on verticals like this one. For a deeper look at this size class, the 1,500-gallon vertical buyer's guide is worth a read (it covers a sibling configuration, so go by the 65 x 114-inch dimensions and white color shown here for this exact SKU). If this tank is going into private fire protection, our guide on fire-water reservoir tank design for rural and remote sites covers NFPA 22 sizing and cold-climate freeze protection.

The mistake to avoid

The most common error on a vertical this size is venting. The 20-inch manway ships with a vent for a reason - on 1,500 to 10,000 gallon verticals, inbreathing during draw-down and outbreathing during fill can pull or push enough air to collapse or balloon an under-vented tank, so keep that manway vent clear. Our worked-example guide on atmospheric vent capacity calculations using API 2000 shows how to size venting for thermal and liquid-movement cases. And because polyethylene tanks tend to fail first at the vapor-saturated headspace rather than the wetted wall, the guide on HDPE tank wall thickness at the headspace explains where to inspect and the ASTM D1998 sizing logic behind it.

This Snyder vertical ships LTL freight, quoted on the empty tank from whichever plant is nearer your ZIP - Albertville, AL or Merced, CA - so East and West buyers both get a competitive lane. Get an exact number through our Freight Cost Estimator, or call 866-418-1777 and we'll quote it for you. Listed before freight; LTL is quoted separately to your delivery ZIP.
