Where this shape wins

This is the 1500 gallon tank for the chemical room built for drums, the mezzanine with a pipe rack overhead, the shed, and the trailer-mounted skid that has to pass under a door. The manway is 72 inches up, so a person reaches it from a step rather than a ladder, and the centre of gravity sits low, which makes it the quietest shape on a windy pad. What the shape asks for in return is floor: an 86 inch circle plus a walking gap, on a slab poured level and in full contact under the whole base, because a wide tank on a pad with one low corner puts its weight into that corner. The 1.9 rating is for dense liquids: acids, caustics, a heavy coagulant, brine, a concentrated process solution. Water and liquids near its weight sit far inside the rating and do not need this wall. Openings, and what to confirm before you buy

1. Manway. 18 inch threaded vented manway on top. A wide tank changes level slowly, which fools people into thinking the air moves slowly too; it does not. Size the vent to the delivery pump and keep the lid threaded shut between deliveries.
2. Outlet. This listing carries no outlet size. Tell us the liquid and the pipe you are tying into when you order and we confirm what Snyder fits to this shell before it ships. Snyder's drawing is linked under Technical Drawing on this page.
3. Base plumbing. A low tank gives a pump little head, so set the pump below the outlet and fit a low-level float. Carry the first valve on its own support and use a flexible connector to hard pipe; on a 1.9 duty the joints work harder than the shell.
4. Level. Black hides the level; plan a gauge.

A forklift with long forks sets it with straps under the body, never through the manway, onto a cured slab. Check the part number 8120100N48 against the bill of lading at the tailgate and look over the shell before signing. Fill with water first and walk the whole pad edge, because a wide tank has a lot of edge, then drain before the product goes in.
