Why buy the 1.9 wall
A 1.9 rating means the wall is built for liquids up to 1.9 times the weight of water. That is the range of brines, calcium and magnesium chloride solutions, heavy liquid fertilizers and a lot of water treatment chemicals. The extra wall costs weight and freight, so it only earns its place when the liquid is heavy; for plain water a lighter rated tank does the same job. The shape is low and wide: 84 inches tall on a 96 inch circle. It goes under low rooflines and keeps the manway reachable from a short ladder, but it needs the floor space. Full at the rating, about 31,692 lb bears on the base, so the pad matters more than on a water tank of the same size. Openings, and what to confirm before you buy
- Manway. One 18 inch threaded vented manway on top. It fills, vents and lets you inspect; never seal it airtight, or a pump drawing the tank down can pull a vacuum on the wall.
- Outlet. No outlet fitting is listed with this part number. Tell us the pipe size, the valve and whether a pump draws from it, and we will confirm with Snyder what the tank carries and what to add.
- Temperature. 120 F is the limit. Some solutions heat up as they are mixed, and a black wall in sun warms the contents; check the working temperature against that figure.
