A low tank for its volume
At 88 inches tall this tank fits where a taller 2000 gallon tank will not: under a shed roof, inside a barn or pump house, or beside a building where the fill point has to stay within reach of a step ladder. The trade is the footprint. A 90 inch circle needs a clear, level pad and a route to it wide enough for the tank, so measure the gate, the doorway and the set position before you order.
The 1.5 rating covers water, rainwater, livestock water and liquids up to one and a half times the weight of water, such as many liquid fertilizers, as long as polyethylene suits the liquid. Full of water, 16,680 lb bears on the floor of the tank and through it on the ground. That wants a level, continuous surface with no high spots and no gaps under the edge. Openings, and what to confirm before you buy
- Manway. One 18 inch threaded vented manway on top. It is the fill point, the inspection opening and the vent, so never seal it airtight or the tank can pull a vacuum as it drains.
- Outlet. No outlet or bottom fitting is listed with this part number. Tell us the line size, the valve and whether the tank feeds by gravity or a pump, and we will confirm with Snyder what the tank carries and what to add.
- Temperature. 120 F is the limit. A black tank in full sun runs warmer than the air around it, so check the figure if the liquid goes in warm.
