Why the 96 inch base instead of the 90

Four inches of height is the answer. The wider base also lowers the center of gravity, so the empty tank needs less against wind than the taller shell, though it still gets strapped before the first fill. Vent first, then the outlet

• Vent: the 18 inch manway is threaded and vented, and on a tank filled from a truck the vent is the fitting that matters most. A delivery pump pushes air out as fast as it pushes liquid in, and a vent that cannot pass that air lets the tank pressurize; a pump drawing down faster than the vent breathes in lets it pull a vacuum. Size the vent to the fastest pump that will ever touch the tank, screen it, and on a fuming chemical run it outdoors.
• Headspace: fill to the shoulder, not the manway. A dense chemical grows as it warms in a black wall in the sun, and the headspace is where it goes.
• Outlet: 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, at the base; tell us the liquid when ordering and the fitting is matched to it, with a flexible connector to hard pipe and the valve supported off the pad.
• Access: 18 inch threaded, vented manway, 84 inches up, opened from a step.

Seven feet of liquid above a 2 inch outlet is a flooded suction for a chemical feed pump to the last few inches; mount the pump below the outlet so gravity primes it, and a low-level float shuts it down before it draws air.
