Where it goes

Two thousand gallons is the size a farm or a small plant buys when totes stop making sense: a sprayer fill tank for liquid fertilizer at the field edge, a water reserve at a poultry house or a hunting camp, a wash water tank at a gin or a packing line, a treatment chemical day tank at a small water system. At a little over seven feet it stands under a standard eight foot ceiling with room for the vent, and the 90 inch shell fits a small containment, a pickup trailer and any flatbed. Snyder lists a second 2,000 gallon black vertical tank; this one is moulded in Arkansas, the short lane for Arkansas, Mississippi, Tennessee, Louisiana and Texas. The floor carries the load: a rotationally moulded tank bears on its whole floor, so the circle takes all 16,680 lb of water and more at the rating. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting low in the wall. Two inches suits a transfer pump and a hose fill; for fast gravity loading of a sprayer, ask us about the outlet at order. Fit a flexible connector to hard pipe and carry the first valve on a support off the pad, so the wall carries liquid and not hardware.
2. Manway. An 18 inch threaded vented manway on top, reached from the ground or a step. Wide enough for a fill hose, a float and a brush. Keep the vent clear.
3. Liquid and temperature. Polyethylene handles water, most fertilizers and many common chemicals to 120 F. Check anything aggressive with us before the order; a liquid heavier than 1.5 times water needs a heavy duty wall, not this tank.
