Snyder Industries 2000 Gallon Plastic Horizontal Leg Tank with Securing Hoops

Where it goes

Buy this mould when the deck is long and narrow. At 62 inches wide it leaves room beside it on a flatbed for a pump and an inductor, and at 160 inches long it uses the length of a tandem or triple axle trailer that a wide, low tank would waste. The trade is height: at 70 inches tall the centre of gravity sits higher than on the wide version, so keep the speed down on rough field roads and strap it at both ends. Full of water it is more than eight tons, so the trailer's axle ratings and the tow vehicle decide whether it belongs there, not the tank. Run the straps through the securing hoops, never over the top opening, set the weight over the axles, and re-tension after the first few miles because a polyethylene tank settles onto its legs under load. The legs need a flat, continuous deck for the full 160 inches. What goes in it

Liquid fertilizer is the usual load, water the second. Check anything else in our chemical compatibility guide first; urea solution, calcium chloride, potassium hydroxide and phosphoric acid are the common questions at this size. The 1.9 rating puts every common blend inside the limit. Keep the liquid under 120 F. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. 2 inch, the size most farm valves, camlocks and transfer pumps already are, so match the hardware to it rather than reducing. The thread form and fitting material are not listed on this page; ask us before you buy the valve.
2. Top opening. 18 inches: wide enough to fill from a pump discharge, to drop a float or a suction line in, and to get a head and shoulders in to inspect and clean. Confirm with us whether it ships as a lid or a manway before you buy a replacement cover.
3. Hoops. The securing hoops come with the tank. Strap through them, not over the shell.
