Seven feet tall, and the standard wall is enough

Snyder makes this low shell in a heavy duty wall rated to 1.9 as well. That wall holds the same 2,000 gallons and costs more, so it only earns its price when the liquid is dense. Water is not. Fertilizer solution, brine, hypochlorite and most coagulants at working strength are not. For those, this 1.5 wall is the right buy, and the difference goes into the pad and the fittings. The height is the other reason to pick it: at 84 inches the tank goes under a low ceiling or a lean-to, most people open the manway from the floor, and the low, wide shape sits steady in wind. A dairy's liquid feed, a co-op's spring fertilizer, a small plant's hypochlorite or a shop's process water are the normal loads. What goes in it

Check anything beyond water and fertilizer against polyethylene in our chemical compatibility guide and tell us the liquid when you order so the outlet fitting is matched to it. White runs cooler in the sun than black but passes some light, so hypochlorite, which degrades in light, is happier in the black version of this tank or a shaded room. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting low in the wall. Your valve, camlock or hose adapter threads straight into it, and seven feet of liquid above it keeps a pump at pad level flooded. Fertilizer settles and brine drops salt as it cools, so a strainer ahead of the pump earns its place. Support the valve and the first pipe run off the pad and trace or insulate them where winters freeze.
2. Manway. An 18 inch threaded vented manway on top, 84 inches up: a screen in it for a tote fill, a dip tube for a tanker fill, and a vent that passes air as fast as the fill pump moves liquid.
3. Freeboard. Fill to the shoulder; liquid grows as it warms and the headspace absorbs it.
