Chemical compatibility
The tank wall is HDLPE rated to 1.9 specific gravity, which covers the dense acids and concentrated solutions that overwhelm a standard 1.5 SG water tank - in fact 1.9 SG already handles the heaviest services in the list below, including 98% sulfuric, 85% phosphoric, and 50% ferric chloride, so you will not need a heavier-rated tank for these chemicals. Resin compatibility is only half the picture, though: the fitting and gasket materials below are matched to each chemical, so spec the hardware to the service, not just the tank. Each chemical is confirmed against the OEM chemical-resistance chart at the listed concentration; resistance is always concentration- and temperature-specific, so confirm your exact service conditions first.

The mistake to avoid
The most common error on a double-wall chemical tank is matching the tank resin to your chemical but ignoring the gasket. Sodium hypochlorite, hydrogen peroxide, hydrofluoric acid, phosphoric acid, and 98% sulfuric (on CPVC fittings) all call for Viton rather than the EPDM used on most salts - run EPDM on an oxidizer and the gasket degrades long before the polyethylene does. Two harder exceptions are easy to mis-spec: peracetic acid needs 316SS fittings with Aflas gaskets, and DEF needs 316SS fittings even though it still runs EPDM. The other trap is freeboard - the 1.9 SG rating gives you the weight headroom, but ASTM D1998 expansion and thermal sizing still govern how much usable volume you actually get.
