The Snyder Industries 2500 Gallon ASTM XLPE Heavy Duty Vertical Storage Tank (SKU 8140000N42) is a crosslinked linear polyethylene (XLPE) vertical storage tank, standing 107 inches tall on a 90 x 90 inch footprint in Natural White. It carries a 1.9 specific gravity rating, which is the number that tells you what the tank can hold: for plain water (SG 1.0) you are well under the rating, so the 1.9 rating and the crosslinked wall are structural headroom you are paying for and rarely use on water alone. That build is why this is the heavy-duty model if you ever move to denser fluids. Full of water, the tank and contents weigh about 20,850 lb; loaded to its maximum rated contents, that climbs to roughly 39,615 lb. Those numbers drive the pad and the freight, so plan both around them, not the empty shell.
Will it work for your site
At 2,500 gallons in a 90-inch-square footprint and 107 inches of height, this is a tall vertical storage tank for bulk water, fire-water reserve, and general above-ground holding where floor space is tighter than headroom. The crosslinked wall gives it heavier structural integrity than a comparable HDPE tank, which is the point of the heavy-duty build and the 1.9 SG rating. If you are sizing for a specific drawdown or refill cycle, run the numbers through our Tank Sizing Calculator and the Tank Sizing Guide before you commit. For crosslinked-versus-linear tradeoffs, our guide on Snyder XLPE vs HDPE explains when the crosslinked wall earns its keep.
Fittings and access
Per the technical drawing on this page, this tank carries a flange, an 18-inch PE threaded and vented top fitting, and a manway with 15-inch access for cleaning and inspection. Seal the flange with a gasket rated for your service and torque the bolts evenly, and confirm the 18-inch PE-threaded/vented fitting's thread and gasket match your fill and vent hardware before plumbing. That vented fitting must stay clear — do not cap it — so the tank breathes during fast fill and draw and does not implode or over-pressure. Note the drawing's caveat that some gallonage marks may be removed for fitting placement, so confirm final fitting locations against the drawing before you plumb the site, and always verify fitting size, thread, and orientation on the drawing rather than assuming from the photo.
Foundation and freight
A loaded weight approaching 39,615 lb demands a proper foundation. Size and detail the concrete pad using our walkthrough on Concrete Pad Sizing for Above-Ground Polyethylene Tanks so the full-load footprint is supported edge to edge. During setting, remember the 90 x 90 footprint under 107 inches of height makes the tank top-heavy while empty, so brace or guy it until it is anchored and filling begins. If this is a rural fire-water reserve, the Fire-Water Reservoir Tank Design guide covers NFPA 22 sizing discipline and freeze protection.
