Snyder Industries 2650 Gallon ASTM Black Heavy Duty Vertical Storage Tank

Wide and low on purpose

This shell is wider than it is tall. At 97 inches it fits under many low roofs, canopies and mezzanines where a taller tank will not, and it can be filled from a truck deck or a short step. The broad 102 inch base keeps the tank steady and spreads the load over more slab. That load is real: about 42,000 lb at the rating rests on the floor of the tank, so the slab has to be level and continuous with no voids under the edge. Read the concrete pad sizing guide before you pour, and measure the doorway or gate the tank must pass, because 102 inches is wider than many.

The 1.9 rating is the reason to buy this part number: brines, calcium chloride and other salt solutions, heavy liquid fertilizers and the treatment chemicals polyethylene handles, all of them heavier than water. Openings, and what to confirm

1. Manway. One 18 inch threaded vented manway on top. On a low, wide tank the manway may sit some way in from the edge, so check the reach from where you will stand; the drawing shows its position.
2. Outlet. No outlet or fitting is listed with this part number. Send us the line size, valve and liquid, and we will confirm with Snyder what the tank carries and what to add.
3. Temperature. 120 F is the service limit. Ask before storing a liquid that is held or arrives warm.

Shipping and receiving

The tank ships LTL at freight class 300 from Snyder's Marked Tree, Arkansas plant, listed at 102 by 102 by 97 inches and 800 lb. Plan the unload before the truck arrives: straps under the base and a lift, never a lift by the manway. Set it on the finished slab, fill it with water first and check the base and the manway seal before the working liquid goes in. At the tailgate, check the bill of lading against 8390000N51 and inspect the shell, the base edge especially.
