Snyder Industries 3000 Gallon Vertical Storage Tank

The standard wall, and when the heavy one is money wasted

Snyder makes this shell in a heavy duty wall rated to 1.9 as well. That wall costs more and holds the same volume, so it only earns its price when the liquid is dense enough to need it. Water is not. Brine at the strength a food plant uses is not. Hypochlorite, most coagulants and the fertilizer solutions a co-op stores are not. For those, this 1.5 wall is the right buy, and the difference goes into the pad and the fittings. Full of water it weighs 3,000 x 8.34 = 25,020 lb plus the tank, on a 102 inch circle. What goes in it

Water, brine, fertilizer solution and the common treatment chemicals are the normal loads. Check anything else against polyethylene in our chemical compatibility guide and tell us the liquid when you order so the outlet fitting is matched to it. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting low in the wall. Your valve or camlock threads straight into it. Support the valve and the first pipe run so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware, and where winters freeze, trace or insulate that run.
2. Manway. An 18 inch threaded vented manway on top, 97 inches up: a step for whoever opens it, a dip tube for a truck fill, and a vent that passes air as fast as the fill pump moves liquid.
