The Snyder Industries 300 gallon carbon steel Supertainer IBC tote, part number 6984200B32208, is a steel tote 42 inches long, 48 inches wide and 41.25 inches tall, weighing 424 lb empty and listed in dark blue. It fills through a 22 inch vented manway or a 2 inch access port, and it empties through a 2 inch 316 stainless steel ball valve, so the outlet is stainless even though the body is carbon steel. Why a low steel tote
At 41.25 inches tall, the top of this tote is at bench height. A person standing on the floor can open the 22 inch manway, fill through it, sample from it and reach in to wash it, with no step or platform. It goes under a low mezzanine, through a doorway a taller tote will not clear, and onto a flat bed without being the tallest thing on the load. The 42 by 48 inch footprint is close to a standard pallet, so it fits the aisle, the rack bay and the truck you already use. Steel is the reason to buy it over a plastic tote: it takes knocks on a busy floor and suits liquids and sites where a plastic container is not what your standard calls for. What to check before you buy
- The liquid. Carbon steel and stainless behave differently. For a corrosive liquid, or a product that must stay free of iron, compare the 304 stainless versions below. Start with our chemical compatibility guide and call us with anything you are unsure of.
- Outlet. A 2 inch 316 stainless ball valve. Keep it closed and capped in transit and support the hose so it does not hang on the valve.
- Inlet and manway. A 2 inch access port for a closed fill line or a pump return, and a 22 inch vented manway for filling, inspection and cleaning.
- Drinking water. If the tote will hold potable water, call us first and we will confirm what Snyder documents for this model.
