Where this tank goes

This is the everyday 3,000 gallon black tank for a yard or a plant room: a hypochlorite day tank at a water plant, a fertilizer solution at a co-op, a process chemical that has to sit outdoors in the sun. The 1.5 rating is the middle of the three ratings Snyder offers on this shell. If your liquid is heavier than 1.5 times water, you need the heavy duty version, not this one; if it is water or close to it, the 1.35 version in the same shell is lighter to ship. Openings and fittings

1. Manway. An 18 inch threaded vented manway on top, 127 inches up. It is the fill, inspection and cleaning point, so plan a fixed platform or a stand-off ladder that does not bear on the wall. The vent breathes a gravity fill and a small pump; a tanker pump moves liquid faster than a lid vent passes air, so match the vent to the delivery rate.
2. Outlet. Tell us the liquid and the line size when you order and we will confirm which outlet fitting this part number ships with and match the gasket and bolting to the chemical. Support the first valve off the slab so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.

The tank ships LTL at freight class 400 from the nearer of Snyder's plants in Lincoln, NE and Philippi, WV, travelling 90 by 90 by 127 inches at 575 lb. At the tailgate, check the part number against 5130000N49 on the bill of lading and walk round the tank for transit damage before you sign. Lift it with straps under the body, never through the manway, set it on the finished slab and strap it to structure the same day. Fill it with water the first time and watch the base and the outlet fitting for a weep; mark the water line outside with a paint pen before you drain, because that line calibrates the level sender.
