Where it goes

Three thousand gallons is where a lot of operations step up from totes and drums to a tank: a grower who takes liquid fertilizer by the tanker instead of the tote, a small utility that wants a week of treatment chemical on hand, a plant that needs process or rinse water at the line, a rural building with a water reserve. The 90 inch shell fits a modest containment and rides an ordinary flatbed, and the colour is the right one for anything light spoils. The pad is the structural question: a rotationally moulded tank bears on its whole floor, so the circle carries all 25,020 lb of water and more at the rating. Engineer the slab to our concrete pad sizing guide, level and in full contact, with containment where the liquid is regulated, and strap the tank before the first fill; ten and a half feet of empty black cylinder catches wind. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting low in the wall. Three inches fills a sprayer or a nurse trailer fast and keeps a transfer pump flooded. Fit a flexible connector to hard pipe and carry the first valve on a support off the pad.
2. Manway. An 18 inch threaded vented manway on top, for the fill hose, a float and a brush. Keep the vent clear; the pump draws air through it.
3. Liquid and temperature. Polyethylene handles water, most fertilizers and many common chemicals to 120 F. Check anything aggressive with us before the order; a liquid heavier than 1.5 times water needs the heavy duty wall of this shell, not this tank.
