Verified-compatible chemistries from the OEM chemical-resistance chart include acetic acid (60%), aluminum sulfate (50%), calcium chloride (40%), DEF (32.5%), ethylene glycol (100%), ferric chloride (50%), ferric sulfate (60%), ferrous sulfate (20%), hydrofluosilicic acid (26%), magnesium chloride (30%), polyaluminum chloride, potassium carbonate (50%), potassium hydroxide (saturated), propylene glycol, sodium carbonate (30%), sodium thiosulfate (40%), urea solution (50%), and ozonated water (up to 10 PPM). Fitting and gasket material matters as much as the tank wall. Most of these run PVC fittings with EPDM gaskets as the default — but the exceptions are where installs fail: DEF needs 316 stainless steel hardware, acetic acid and hydrofluosilicic acid want PP or PVC (with hydrofluosilicic acid taking a Viton gasket rather than EPDM), and propylene glycol pairs PP or 316SS with EPDM. The mistake to avoid on a 1.9 SG cone tank

The single most expensive error is the fitting, not the tank. The XLPE wall handles the chemicals above, but a PVC nipple or the wrong gasket on a DEF, hydrofluosilicic acid, or ferric chloride line will fail long before the tank does — leaks at the bulkhead are almost always a material mismatch at the fitting, not a tank defect. Spec 316SS for DEF and a Viton gasket for hydrofluosilicic acid per the chart above. Second: do not assume this cone tank is freestanding — a cone bottom needs a matching steel or poly stand sized to the full 25,020 lb water weight (more with dense chemistry), so size the stand before you order.
