Note that DEF is the one chemical on this list that requires 316 stainless steel fittings rather than PVC or PP - everything else runs PVC or PP with EPDM gaskets. A few common chemicals are heavier than this tank's 1.5 SG rating and require a same-geometry 1.9 SG cone instead, which is available as a real product path - storing them in this 1.5 SG tank would be a mistake. Those include Ethylene Glycol, Ferric Chloride, Ferric Sulfate, Hydrofluosilicic Acid (the only chemical in this set needing Viton gaskets rather than EPDM), Polyaluminum Chloride, Potassium Carbonate, Potassium Hydroxide, Propylene Glycol, and Sodium Thiosulfate. If you store any of these, ask for the 1.9 SG version when you call.

The mistake to avoid

The single most common error on a chemical cone tank is matching the fittings and gaskets to the tank instead of to the chemical. The XLPE wall is the easy part; the bulkhead fittings and gaskets at the cone outlet are what fail first. As the list above shows, DEF needs 316 stainless steel, hydrofluosilicic acid (on the 1.9 SG path) needs Viton, and the rest run PVC or PP with EPDM - specify those materials at order time, not after a leak. Equally important: do not assume a 1.5 SG tank covers every chemical.
