Fitting and gasket material matters as much as the tank wall: most of these run PVC or PP fittings with EPDM gaskets, but the aggressive oxidizers and strong acids change the rules - Hydrochloric, Hydrofluoric, Hydrofluosilicic, Hydrogen Peroxide, Phosphoric, and Sodium Hypochlorite call for Viton gaskets; Sulfuric Acid at 98% needs CPVC fittings with Viton. DEF at 32.5% is a purity-critical service rather than a corrosion one, so it runs 316 stainless fittings with EPDM; Peracetic Acid also calls for 316 stainless, paired with an Aflas gasket. The mistake to avoid

The most expensive error on a cone bottom tank this size is matching the wrong fitting or gasket to the chemical, not the tank itself. The HDLPE wall at 1.9 SG handles the chemicals above, but a PVC fitting or EPDM gasket on a Viton-required service (or CPVC on Sulfuric Acid) will fail long before the tank does. The second is under-building the support: this tank reaches 57,046 lb at full rated SG, and a stand sized for water-only weight will not carry a dense chemical load.
