The mistake to avoid
The single most common error on cone bottom chemical tanks is buying to the water weight and ignoring specific gravity. This is a 1.5 s.g. tank: anything denser than water raises the contents weight toward the 55,044 lb maximum, and storing a 1.9 s.g. chemical such as bleach or sulfuric acid in a 1.5-rated shell is a failure waiting to happen. Match the tank's s.g. rating to your chemical's specific gravity, and pair every fitting and gasket to the chemical - the tables above call out EPDM, Viton, and Aflas gaskets for a reason.
