Why the heavy wall, and when not to pay for it

The shape of this tank is not the decision; the wall is. A liquid meaningfully heavier than water loads the bottom third of a shell in a way water never does, and the 1.9 rating is built for that: acid or caustic beside a finishing line, a dense coagulant in a cramped dosing room, brine at a drilling yard. If your liquid is at or near the weight of water, the 1.5 rated version, 7421100N40, is the honest buy and this is wall you would pay for and never use. Openings and what to check before you buy

1. Manway. An 18 inch threaded vented manway on top, 100 inches up, reached from a short platform with a rail. On a dense liquid the vapor above the working level is the aggressive half of the duty, so keep a screen on the vent and look at it every time the lid comes off.
2. Outlet. No outlet fitting is listed on this product. Tell us the liquid, the pipe size and where the connection goes and we will confirm what Snyder installs and what you add. Mount the pump below the outlet so gravity keeps it primed, fit a low-level cutout, and carry the first valve on its own support with a flexible connector to hard pipe.
3. Rating. 1.9 specific gravity and 140 F. Heavier or hotter liquids need a different tank; ask us.
