Snyder Industries 5180000N46 is a 4,100 gallon black cone bottom tank in crosslinked linear polyethylene (XLPE), 90 inches in diameter and 197 inches tall, at 1,000 lb empty. It carries the standard 1.5 specific gravity rating, so water, liquid fertilizer, DEF and common brines are within its duty, and the service limit is 100 F. An 18 inch threaded vented manway on top handles filling, a float and cleaning. The cone is what makes this tank useful for anything that settles or separates: the whole batch, sediment included, goes to the low point and out. The black wall stops daylight, which keeps algae down in water and shields light sensitive liquids.

Setting it up

Then size the pad for the load: 4,100 gallons x 8.34 lb = 34,194 lb of water, and 4,100 x 8.34 x 1.5 = 51,291 lb at the full rating. Pour it level, wider than the stand and solid under every leg. Height comes next: 197 inches of tank, the stand, and clear space above the manway for the fill hose and for whoever climbs up to look in. Leave room around the cone for a valve and a hose to reach the outlet.
