A tall reserve that feeds by gravity

This tank is the answer when the site has height to spare and little ground: beside a well house, along the side of a barn, in a narrow service yard or as one of several tanks sharing a pad. For water, the 182 inch column is an advantage. The liquid standing over the base fitting gives a gravity feed useful pressure when full and keeps a pump suction flooded until the tank is nearly drained, which suits livestock watering, garden and orchard irrigation, a wash supply or a well buffer. At the top it asks for a fixed ladder with a cage, a platform at the manway, and a fill pipe run up the side with the vent kept clear. What to check before you buy

1. The weight of the liquid. 1.5 specific gravity is the ceiling. Brines and dense concentrates belong in the 1.9 rated heavy duty version of this column, which we also list.
2. The outlet. No bottom fitting is listed for this tank. Give us the pipe size and the use and we will confirm the fitting before you order.
3. The manway. 18 inch threaded and vented on top, with room for a float switch, a level sender and a fill hose.
4. Freezing. In cold country, protect the valve and the first run of pipe; that is where a freeze does its damage.

The tank ships LTL at freight class 300 from Snyder's plant at Lincoln, Nebraska, 90 by 90 by 182 inches and 1,100 lb. It rides on its side and has to be stood up where it will sit, so book lift equipment and clear a path for the full length.
