Snyder Industries 4900 Gallon ASTM XLPE Heavy Duty Vertical Storage Tank

Where this tank goes

This is the tank for a plant that stores something heavier than water and has very little floor to give up. A 90 inch diameter is the smallest footprint Snyder offers at this volume, and the price of that footprint is height: 202 inches to the top of the shell, plus the manway lid, a fill line and a vent above it. Measure the clear height under the lowest steel before you order. A tall, narrow tank also needs anchoring. Full, it puts over 40,866 lb on a circle 90 inches across, so the pad is engineered for that load, poured level and in full contact under the whole base; our concrete pad sizing guide covers the slab. Empty, at 2,000 lb, it is light for its height and catches wind, so strap it to anchors before the first fill. The 1.9 rating is what you are paying for over the lighter version of this shell: if your liquid is at or near the weight of water, you do not need it. Openings and what to check before you buy

1. Manway. An 18 inch threaded vented manway on top. It is the fill point, the inspection point and the vent, and at 202 inches up it is reached from a platform with a rail, not a leaned ladder. Fill through a dip tube to the floor so a heavy liquid does not free-fall the height of the shell.
2. Outlet. No outlet fitting is listed on this product. Tell us the liquid, the pipe size and where the connection goes and we will confirm what Snyder installs on the tank and what you add on site. Support the first valve on its own stand so the wall carries liquid, not hardware.
3. Rating. 1.9 specific gravity and 140 F. Liquids heavier than 1.9 times water, or hotter than 140 F, need a different tank. Ask us.

The tank ships LTL at freight class 250 from Snyder's Lincoln, NE plant, 90 x 90 x 202 inches on the truck and 2,000 lb. At that length it rides lying down and is stood up on site, so have a telehandler or crane and straps ready; lift with straps under the body, never with a hook through the manway. At the tailgate, check the part number 5480000N42 against the bill of lading, look over the full length of the shell for transit damage, and set it on its anchors the same day.
