Why buy the standard wall on a tall tank

Four walls come out of this 90 x 202 inch mould, and for a liquid at or near water weight this is the one to buy: a rating you never load is wall you paid to make and freight you paid to move. Take the heavy duty version only when the liquid is genuinely dense. The shape is for sites with floor to spare in one direction only: a 90 inch circle fits an aisle or a containment bay, and in return the manway is close to seventeen feet up, which means a caged ladder to a fixed platform, a permanent fill connection at the top and room above the lid for the vent. Strap the tank to structure or to slab anchors while it is empty at 1,450 lb; a tall black shell moves in the wind and grows and shrinks in the sun. What goes in it

Water, liquid fertilizer and the treatment chemicals that crosslinked polyethylene handles at 1.5 specific gravity. Openings and fittings

1. Manway. An 18 inch threaded vented manway at the top. Run a dip tube to the floor so the fill stream does not free-fall seventeen feet and foam the headspace, and keep the lid threaded shut between deliveries.
2. Outlet. Tell us the liquid, the flow and the pump at order and we confirm the outlet this tank is supplied with before anything is drilled. Mount the pump below the outlet where the head keeps it primed, fit a low level float, and carry the first valve on its own support with a flexible connector to the shell.
3. Vent. Sized to the delivery pump, not to the nearest port, and piped outdoors on anything that fumes.

Shipping and receiving

The tank ships LTL at freight class 300 from Snyder's plant in Lincoln, NE, 90 x 90 x 202 inches and 1,450 lb on the truck. It arrives lying down and has to be stood up, so plan a crane or a loader with straps under the body, never a sling through the manway, and tie it down before the crane is released. Check the part number against 5480000N46 on the bill of lading. Fill it with water first, hold it, and watch the base and every fitting before the working liquid goes in.
