Part number 1002100N49 is the Snyder Industries 5000 Gallon ASTM Black Vertical Storage Tank: polyethylene, flat bottom, 102 inches in diameter and 154 inches tall, 950 lb empty, with an 18 inch threaded vented manway on top. It is rated for liquids up to 1.5 specific gravity, which covers water, most liquid fertilizers and many common chemicals. Full of water it holds 41,700 lb (5,000 x 8.34). The service limit is 120 F (48 C). Snyder gives it a 3 year warranty. The black wall keeps sunlight out, which is what keeps stored water free of algae.

A working reserve that fits most sites
A 102 inch circle and a 154 inch body make this an easy tank to place: it fits a standard containment pad, it stands beside a barn or a pump house without dwarfing it, and the manway is a short climb. That is why it gets used for well water storage, livestock and irrigation reserves, rainwater collection, a wash bay supply and liquid fertilizer at the farm. Enough height stands over the outlet that a gravity feed keeps moving through most of the draw, and a pump below the fitting stays primed. The slab under it carries the full water load on the whole floor, so pour it level and flat with our concrete pad sizing guide; a soft or uneven base is the usual cause of a stressed floor. What to check before you buy
- The weight of the liquid. 1.5 specific gravity is the limit. For a denser brine or solution, Snyder makes the 1.9 rated heavy duty tank in this same shell, and we list it.
- The outlet. No bottom fitting is listed for this tank. Tell us the pipe size and what the water feeds and we will confirm the fitting before you order.
- The manway. 18 inch threaded and vented, wide enough for a fill hose, a float switch and a cleaning brush.
- Cold weather. In a freezing climate, protect the valve and the first run of pipe; that is where ice does the damage.

Plan equipment and two people to unload and set it, with straps round the body rather than anything through the manway. At the tailgate, check 1002100N49 against the bill of lading and walk round the wall and base for damage.
